Description
This is a cornet from C.G. Conn, a major American musical instrument manufacturer.

The New Wonder series became widely used by both professional and amateur musicians, particularly for saxophones and cornets. During this period, Conn was known as the world's largest manufacturer of wind instruments, contributing significantly to the development of jazz and classical music while continuing to innovate in design and manufacturing technology.

This is a cornet used by the legendary cornet virtuoso Bix Beiderbecke, and it features a new system that was all the rage at the time.

This particular instrument is very rare, featuring rotary valves that allow for switching between C and Bb. When used in C or A, the main tuning slide is pulled out about 10cm, and for Bb, it is almost fully inserted, with the tuning slide on the bell side being adjusted for use.
It is equipped with a quick-change system that is very convenient for orchestras, and can also be used as an A cornet by extending the main tuning slide while in Bb.

It boasts a luxurious construction with beautiful engraving and a gold-plated bell interior.

The airtightness is excellent. The condition is miraculous for an instrument of this era.
Approximately 90% of the original plating remains.

This instrument has had very few repairs, with a protective patch applied to the second valve slide.
The repair is well done and there are no issues with playability.
Please examine the photos carefully, as we have tried to capture as much detail as possible.

Modern mouthpieces such as Denis Wick or Bach can be used.
Please note that it does not have a trumpet shank.

Although over 100 years old, its intonation balance and tone are superb, and it offers a warmth different from modern instruments.
It was invaluable for playing Soldier's Tale and for transpositions in orchestral settings, but I am selling it due to financial needs.
This is a museum-quality piece.

As this is an antique item, please purchase at your own discretion.
To avoid any issues, we will do our best to provide additional photos or information upon request. Please feel free to ask any questions.

This opportunity is unlikely to come again.
