Rare French Antique Unbleached Linen Large Sheet 3.2x2.2m

From a French antique market. 25-C

Approximately 100-year-old, thick, plain-weave, unbleached linen fabric. Antique linen is characterized by its exceptional thickness, the texture of slub yarns and weave, and its large size, which are not found in modern fabrics.

The color is natural. Likely unused. It appears to have been prepared as part of a dowry, but was never actually used and was carefully folded and stored in a cupboard for a long time. It has the crisp stiffness and feel of starched, unused thick linen. It will soften with use and washing.
Three sheets of different sizes, all from the same fabric. They are listed separately.
As they are all old, some dust and stains from age are unavoidable, but they are not significant damage and should be within an acceptable range for those who understand antique textiles.

This is item 25-C, one of the three sheets.
It will be sent with the old starching intact. It may have a slightly dusty smell. Currently, the fabric is stiff and crisp, but it is expected to soften with use and washing.
The hem of the single piece of fabric is meticulously hand-stitched with fine needlework.
Identification of material and age can be difficult; please understand any discrepancies.

Ideal for making dresses, aprons, or placemats. Can also be used as is for sofa covers or curtains.
