Antique Brass Mirror w/Easel- Late 19th Century High Relief Bacchus Mask Baroque
Antique
This piece is the perfect example of an antique baroque brass mirror with easel, used either on a tabletop or vanity. It features highly ornate casting with a central mythological face mask at the crest, full figures at each side, scrolling acanthus leaves, and stylized structural legs at the base. This specific pattern is characteristic of late 19th-century to early 20th-century MATERIAL: Brass. Heavy frame features a deep brown, naturally aged patina throughout. DESIGN MOTIF: The frame is heavily decorated with historical European motifs, including grotesque or mythological human faces (at the crest and base), side figures, scrolled acanthus leaves, and floral elements. GLASS: The central mirror features a distinctive beveled edge, a premium detail common in high-quality decorative mirrors of the era. FUNCTIONALITY: The elaborate legs at the bottom indicate this piece was structurally engineered to stand as a tabletop or vanity mirror, supported by a folding easel on the back đź’‹Condition. It's Old..and does show signs of its 100+ years; patina, the easel does wobble a bit, but still secure. The mirror is remarkably clear but does have chips at each corner of the mirror...See pics 13, 14 & 15 for details. I left it As-Is /no cleaning.
