The ESP Custom Lab Metal Knob Noise Killer is a part that eliminates the unpleasant shaft scratching noise when using metal knobs. Due to its structure, the shaft of a volume pot has unstable ground connection. Therefore, when operating a metal volume knob, the ground connection through your finger also becomes unstable, resulting in shaft scratching noise.
The Metal Knob Noise Killer is a special washer processed into a leaf spring shape. By sandwiching it between the pot body and the knob, it forcibly establishes electrical contact between both.

When a guitar is equipped with metal knobs, shaft scratching noise may occur during operation. Using this special washer (0.1mm stainless steel spring plate) can eliminate the noise characteristic of metal knobs. Although it may appear as a thin, flimsy plate in the image, it is a metal component with sufficient rigidity. To install, remove the knob, slide the part onto the shaft with the boat-shaped bottom facing down. Then, simply reattach the knob, and installation is easy. This useful item provides noise suppression by creating a conductive circuit between the knob and the pot body via the special washer.
