Vintage General Detroit Corp. FLOAFOME Model 833 fire extinguisher, dating approximately 1942–1957. Large 2½-gallon foam-type model with copper body, brass instruction plates and substantial cast metal top handle. Measures approximately 23 1/4” tall. Original embossed brass plate reads “FLOAFOME Model 833,” “The General Detroit Corp.” and “For Fire Turn Bottom Up.” UL inspection plate remains attached. Original aged surface shows oxidation, darkened patina, spotting, scratches and verdigris consistent with age. No polishing or restoration is represented. Side hose/nozzle assembly shows age and deterioration.
