Kyushu Higo Dōtanuki Uenosuke Replica Sword with Silver Fittings

Purchased from Meirin Sangyo's mail order about 20 years ago, this item has been stored in a cool, dark place with almost no use.

It is crafted with a full tsukurikomi (construction) for actual use.
The style is robust and practical, truly embodying the characteristics of a Doganuki. The blade is wide, thick, and has a substantial meatiness, feeling heavier than a typical decorative sword. The spine's atmosphere also appears to be well-reproduced.

A notable feature is the silver fittings on the kashira (pommel cap) and fuchi (collar), which, despite Doganuki's reputation for unadorned style, express the owner's desire for dignity and enhance its substantial presence.
